Strategies and Achievements of Bio-NMR in Europe San Diego, California (USA) - August 24th, 2008 Motivation Since the early 1990's, the European Commission has invested significantly in the development of human and infrastructure capital in European NMR. In this context, NMR can either be part of large scale projects (such as the structural proteomics initiative SPINE2) or the main focus or technique of specific initiatives, such as: - a transnational access program, enabling scientists from all over Europe to get machine time at the most advanced European NMR Centers. - several research and technological development projects, addressing topics that range from dynamic nuclear polarization to the investigation of protein misfolding A Coordination Action, which focuses on NMR in the Life Sciences, called NMR-Life, has been implemented for such activities as the spreading of best practices, personnel exchange, and the organization of meetings producing authoritative documents. In short, NMR-Life provides a platform for scientific as well as operational exchanges among European researchers. In this satellite meeting, we want to provide a taste of the EC policy for the organization of research and provide some scientific highlights. The organizers hope to have a large attendance of European and non-European participants from the 23rd ICMRBS meeting. A short round table discussion will close the session. We are looking forward to seeing you in San Diego! Registration Please fill in the form.
